Kadena Is Not Dead, Latest Revival Plan Unveiled
The Kadena organization, which recently announced a shutdown of its operations, may soon return, supported by a new Community Takeover Team (CTO) led by Web3 executive Daniel Keller. Plans for the blockchain's revival include introducing new features and restructuring in collaboration with InFlux Technologies Limited. The overhaul aims to integrate wallets, FusionExchange, and Flux I Decentralized Cloud, working toward a new version of Kadena with enhanced use cases. This development is part of broader rebranding trends in the crypto industry, such as Omni Labs transforming into Nomina and Backpack Exchange rebranding as Backpack EU to regain user trust.

Closure and Potential Revival of Kadena Organization
The Kadena organization recently announced the closure of its operations, causing widespread concern in the blockchain community. However, Web3 executive Daniel Keller has stepped in, stating that he is working with the new Community Takeover Team (CTO) for the protocol. This suggests that Kadena may soon return with new features and developments, bringing hope to its supporters.
Official Closure Announcement
A few weeks ago, Kadena officially announced that it was shutting down all operations. According to a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter):
KADENA PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
We regret to announce that the Kadena organization is no longer able to continue business operations and will be ceasing all business activity and active maintenance of the Kadena blockchain immediately.
The organization expressed gratitude to its community, but the abrupt halt raised concerns about the future of the protocol.
Community Takeover and Restructuring Efforts
Despite the closure, Daniel Keller assured the community that this is not the end for Kadena. In a post on X, he highlighted efforts to introduce new features and rebuild the blockchain.
I'm pleased to share that I have been assisting with the new Community Takeover Team (CTO) for @kadena_io.
With that, new and exciting things are coming to $KDA! Over the next several days you will see the team making lots of changes, and building the next V2 of Kadena.
Private investment firm InFlux Technologies Limited has been engaged to support this restructuring process, focusing on legal, foundation, and platform support. Additionally, wallets and FusionExchange will continue to support the protocol. These efforts aim to set the stage for a revitalized version of Kadena.
Role of Flux in Kadena's Future
Flux I Decentralized Cloud will provide the foundational groundwork for depinned infrastructure, enabling the team to lay a solid base for Kadena 2.0. Daniel Keller emphasized their goal to integrate the blockchain into FluxCore and achieve true PoUW (Proof of Useful Work), thereby unlocking further use cases for the platform.
Rebranding Trends in the Crypto Space
The trend of rebranding is also seen in other areas of the crypto world. For instance, Omni Labs announced its transition to Nomina, an Ethereum-native Layer 1 interoperability protocol, in September. The rebrand aims to simplify the fragmented Ethereum rollup landscape, facilitating seamless interactions with dApps and assets across multiple chains. Following this, the Omni Network observed significant activity, with its token value rising by 6% daily.
Similarly, Backpack Exchange was rebranded to Backpack EU, positioning itself as a successor to FTX EU. The rebrand included a private beta launch, limited to 100 slots per day, as the exchange worked to regain users' trust.
