Bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto Arrives in Miami: New Statue Revealed

The Arrival of Satoshi Nakamoto's Statue in Miami

Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, has been honored in the U.S. with a statue now installed in the city of Miami. This achievement was made possible through the efforts of Brandon Lutnick, Chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, and Michael Saylor, Chairman and Co-founder of Strategy. A tweet by X user LaDoger celebrated the installation of the statue, stating: 'Brandon Lutnick and Michael Saylor installed a brand-new statue of Satoshi Nakamoto in Miami.'

The Artistic Vision Behind the Statue

The statue features an innovative line-of-sight illusion designed by Valentina Picozzi, an Italian artist famous for her project Satoshi Gallery, which has brought Satoshi-related statues to five cities. The unique design creates a striking effect: Satoshi’s profile is visible from an angle, yet appears almost transparent when viewed directly from the front.

Unveiling Ceremony and Michael Saylor’s Involvement

Brandon Lutnick, in a celebratory X post, expressed pride: 'Satoshi has come to the US. So proud to bring this powerful sculpture to the city of Miami.' He shared a picture of himself alongside Michael Saylor, unveiling the statue. Saylor, a prominent Bitcoin advocate, leads Strategy, which holds 641,692 BTC, demonstrating his commitment to the cryptocurrency. The company recently acquired 487 BTC for $49.9 million, underlining its confidence in Bitcoin's value.

Global Recognition of Satoshi Nakamoto

The newly installed Miami statue joins an exclusive collection of statues worldwide commemorating Satoshi Nakamoto's contribution to cryptocurrency. Earlier in September, a similar statue was unveiled in Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of broader efforts to honor the Bitcoin founder.

The Satoshi Gallery Initiative and Expansions

The Satoshi Gallery project has successfully erected statues in Switzerland, El Salvador, Japan, and Vietnam, with the Miami installation marking its fifth. One notable statue was unveiled in Lugano, Switzerland, on Oct. 25, 2024, at Plan B’s Bitcoin Forum to reinforce Lugano’s branding as a global Bitcoin hub. However, the Swiss statue was temporarily stolen but fortunately recovered in August 2025.
